Pacific Masters Short Course Championships:
beRecruited.com Founder Ryan Spoon Competes & Wins Two Events

San Jose, California - May 1, 2005

Ryan Spoon, founder of beRecruited.com (www.berecruited.com) and former Duke University swimmer, represented Team beRecruited.com in the Pacific Masters Short Course Championships held in Pleasanton, CA April 30 - May 1 2005.

Ryan Spoon swam four events at the Pacific Masters Short Course Championships - where 100s of swimmers from California, Nevada and Hawaii competed (the states under the Pacific Masters organization.

Ryan Spoon won the 50 yard breaststroke in a time of 27.02.

He followed up the 50 on Sunday with a win in the 100 breaststroke - clocking a time of 58.50.

On Saturday, Spoon competed in the 200 breaststroke against former Curl-Burke teammate and 1992 Olympian Roque Santos. Santos won the event with a 2:07.10 (splits of 29.56 1:01.83 1:34.31 2:07.10). Spoon placed 2nd overall (1st in the 19-24 age group) with a 2:09.71 (splits of 30.39 1:03.16 1:36.17 2:09.71).



All three of Spoon's breaststroke swims qualify as the fastest current swims in the 19-24 age-group for United States Masters swimming. Final United States Masters rankings are published after the short course season concludes on May 31st 2005.

Ryan Spoon was joined by Team beRecruited.com teammate Jarrod Schwarz in the 100 Individual Medley. Schwarz placed 6th in the 19-24 age-group with a 1:01.36. Spoon placed 2nd in the 19-24 age-group with a 56.61.
