Team beRecruited.com Loses Tight Game. Drops
to 0-3.
San Jose, California - July 25, 2005
Team beRecruited.com (0-3) faced division leading
Basesloaded (3-0) Sunday night and played a tight game. After going up 4-0 in
the top of the first inning, Team beRecruited.com struggled defensively and
finished the inning down 7-4. After tying the game at 12-12, beRecruited.com
left 5 men on base and lost the game 22-12.
This was Team beRecruited.com's best offensive outing of the young season. After
shuffling the batting order, Team beRecruited.com was batted Ryan Spoon first,
Chad Whermaker second, Mike Robinson third, and Jeff Parent fourth. Spoon lead
of the game with an outfield single. After Whermaker made an out, Robinson
smashed a homerun to left field to start the game 2-0. Team beRecruited.com
finished the first inning with a 4-0 lead.
Struggles ensued defensively. Missing their starting shortstop, Matt Ackley with
a broken nose, and starting first baseman, Alan Chavez, Team beRecruited.com
struggled mightily in the first inning. Pitcher Jarrod Schwarz, playing with
three sprained fingers, walked 5 batters in the first inning and was replaced in
the second. Schwarz wasn't helped by his team though - with two errors in the
first two innings. Eventually, Team beRecruited.com settled down defensively -
but it was too late.
Mike Robison was 3-4 including the team's first homerun. Ryan Spoon, batting
leadoff, had his best offensive performance of year going 4-4 at the plate,
scoring 3 runs, and driving in 5 runs.
Team beRecruited.com's next softball game comes Sunday against Cali Greens
(1-2).
