Parents, coaches, and student-athletes:
Welcome to my corner of beRecruited.com. My name is Laurie Richter and I recently authored Put Me In, Coach: A Parent's Guide to Winning the Game of College Recruiting. I have a freshman playing basketball at Washington University in St. Louis and I experienced recruiting first hand when he went through it last year.  I learned a lot in the trenches, and I've learned a lot more since then that I hope can work to your benefit. It is complicated and frustrating, but when you find the right fit, it's a great complement to the college experience. And if you're wondering if you're good enough, I am convinced that there is a collegiate athletic program for every kid that is reasonably skilled and has commitment, motivation, a decent work ethic, and realistic expectations.
