Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

It is a big opportunity for me and it shows how much I worked to get their. If I keep working hard in college it could lead to continuing basketball after school ends.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

When I’m on the court I direct my teammates to space out and execute plays because if we all work together the offense flows well. I lead by example by playing aggressive defense and controlled offense. And always learning something new every game and practice to increase my basketball IQ. Off the court I have been raised by parents who have taught me to be respectful to everyone around me. If a teammate has a bad game I let them know they will do better the next game.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Being healthy is a key factor in everyday life and even sports. Eating your fruits and veggies is very beneficial to athletes because it makes your feel great and not tired or weak. There are times when I enjoy the unhealthy stuff but I don't eat it on a consistent basis. Drinking water and coconut water is a healthy habit of mine. If you eat the unhealthy stuff on a consistent basis, you will feel weak and heavy when it comes to physical activity. Eating healthy allows you to do more in anything your doing and this is key if your an athlete because you always want to do more to get even better.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have volunteered for the Vista Library, San Diego Food Bank, Retrievers & Friends Animal Shelter, and Community Resource Center (CRC) Resale Store. I got to help the library in tutoring kids grades 1-5 and shelving books. The food bank and animal shelter I got to help those in need. At the food bank I packaged goods and organized them so they went to the right people. The animal shelter is were I got to take care of dogs that had no home. I helped a lot from laundry, to dishes, setting up comfortable areas for the dogs, and giving them nice walks so they could get out of their cages. At CRC Resale Store I organize donations to be put out on the floor for sale, costumer service, organizing and cleaning stockroom. I enjoy volunteering.
