Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

My ultimate post-secondary goals are to further pursue both my academic and athletic aspirations of earning a degree in Sports Medicine and competing collegiately at the highest level while competing for a multiple conference and national championship throughout my collegiate tenure.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As the setter and captain for my high school and club teams, its my responsibility to put my teammates (hitters) in the optimal scoring opportunities, lead by example and control the tempo of the game. I also need to be able know my teammates strengths and weaknesses. I believe its my responsibility to make sure that my teammates know their assignment well enough in order for them to dominate their role. I have a teammate who has potential to be an outstanding hitter, but she had trouble understanding the rotations and where she needed to be. So, hour before practice and throughout week on the phone for the entire season, we would go over her rotations and her defensive responsibilities. I had her draw the six different rotations and review it. We talked over the phone on our off days. My teammate improved throughout the season, I shared with her that if you become a better passer you would become a better hitter. She is now a six-rotation player has been excelling ever since.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Like most athletes, we strive to be the best in our sport of choice. However I try to make myself better by approaching every aspect of being a volleyball setter as if I was a collegiate athlete now. For the past four years, I have dedicated myself to be a student of the game of volleyball; seeking advice and critique from individuals who played and currently playing the sport of volleyball. I have incorporated both the physical and mental aspects associated with being a collegiate athlete. I have created a yearly regiment that includes both off and in-season performance training, position workouts, film sessions and mentoring younger athletes. I was always taught, you get better when you put in the extra effort in your preparation to perform.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
