I want to be recruited to play tennis in college for a couple reasons. First, I hope to get a scholarship to help pay for my education and second, as indicated in the previous response, it will be an activity that I love and will keep me physically fit and to keep my mind fresh for my college classes.
I have offered to play tennis with underclassmen both to help them and so that I would get as much court time as I could. I also mentor a 4th grade class at one of our elementary schools. During the school year I have volunteered to help the middle school drama teacher with the Forensics Competitions.
I think a well rounded student-athlete is very important to maintain a lifestyle that keeps you physically fit. I want tennis to be a lifetime form of exercise. I currently work in a Tennis Club and see many age groups including seniors coming in to play tennis at a pretty high level and they stay in great physical condition.
I have helped our tennis coach with the summer tennis camps for the past 3 years to help instruct kids from age 5 up to high school on the basic fundamentals of tennis and strategies all while making it a fun experience.
