Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I cannot imagine my life without competitive running. I'm addicted to the runner's high and love the energy before a race. Running gives me purpose and drive. I cannot wait to be on a college team, surrounded by other dedicated women who feel the same way. There is no other bond like that of a cross country team: people who are willing to go through any amount of pain for you and you for them.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have was voted girls' cross country team captain for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. On a surface level, I led stretches, warmups, and organized practices. However, during my time as captain, I also learned important skills such as how to build a team and motivate girls. These skills were also developed in my time as a board member of the Viewpoint Girls in STEM club, where we work with young girls to encourage them to join STEM fields and build teen's confidence in their STEM abilities.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

A student-athlete's life can often be very busy but I think that athletics is integral to health. Not only does running give me time to clear my head and rejuvenate, but it also forces me to make healthy decisions so that I can be the best possible athlete. Because I value running, I prioritize sleep and a healthy diet.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am the co-founder of a community group called Topanga Youth Services, which helps to preserve the beauty of our town and bring the community together through events.
