Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Through my experiences, I have made a conscious decision to be more purposeful in learning more about the people, community and environment around me. I am proud that I have the opportunity to be a Diversity Mentor for my local swim club. I now have a chance to mentor children in the Vallejo community through my local swim club that gives scholarships to those that don’t normally have access to the sport of swimming. I am currently looking at ways to expand the same Diversity Mentoring to other swim clubs in the Bay Area that traditionally have low minority representation. I hope to also stay actively involved in The Sparrow Project – a year-round food assistance program provided by the City of Vallejo that provides food and shelter to many underrepresented people in the community. In the end, I am determined to share more about my own personal story. A story that begins with my family's struggles in providing a better life for my siblings and I here in the United States and teaching us what hard work, perseverance, education and kindness can lead us to in the future.
