Personal Highlights

Bronze medal in WLtw8+ (2019 SW Regionals) as a sophomore - This was a huge personal achievement for me because I set a goal to qualify at the beginning of the season and did a lot of extra work to get there. It was an amazing experience that also allowed me to race at Nationals last year. I hope to reach that level again in the seasons to come.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I have rowed for four years and I can’t imagine going to college without having rowing be a part of my daily schedule.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Constantly pursuing healthy athletic performance is a core component of my club’s culture. As an athlete there, I have committed to perform at the level we expect of everyone on the team. To do this we all have to believe there are no short cuts, and just as important we must all maintain friendly and positive relationships between team mates. Healthy, positive people make better rowers.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I currently volunteer with a non-profit organization dedicated to current and former foster youth in Orange County. The Orangewood Foundation helps over 2,000 foster and community youth annually prepare for independent adulthood. One event where I am very involved is the Orangewood Adventure Challenge. I help with event management at this adventure race, which has raised over $1 million in its first four years. I feel very lucky to be living the life I am after being adopted at birth, so I like to help make sure others have the same opportunities I have had. I have been a part of this organization for 4+ years since I moved to California from Australia.
