Summer 2019 Update:
While cross country is not really my thing, I do it to improve my track seasons. I ended my 2019 track season early because AP courses, AP testing, SAT testing, homework was piling up. I had to devote more time to my school work. My goal for my senior year is to crush all my previous times in cross country and track. On June 9th, I ran an 11-mile long run in preparation for the San Diego Craft Classic half marathon on July 14th. Every week, I have been increasing my long run by 1 mile. I plan on peaking at 15 miles on July 20 to build a strong base for the upcoming season. During the week, I am running tempo runs, hill workouts & intervals. My next race is the Scripps Ranch July 4th 10K.

2020 Track Season:
My senior year will be much more manageable. I plan on running a full season with an eye on breaking 50 seconds in the 400m.
I enjoy practicing & teaching taekwondo (World Taekwondo 4th degree black belt). My taekwondo improves my flexibility and has greatly aided my running injury prevention. I have two running mottos: Run really hard on hard days and run very easy on easy days - & - Recovery is just as important as training. I have participated in national championships in cross country, taekwondo, cycling, and triathlon. You can follow me on my Twitter account @EthanSBoen.
