Academic Requirements

Admission to the University is based upon high school curriculum; high school grade point average and rank; standardized test scores (ACT or SAT); special abilities, talents, or achievements; curricular involvement; and an essay. Under guidelines for highly selective institutions from the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education, the students who receive the strongest consideration for admission to Truman will have at least a 140 combined ability score. The combined ability is determined by adding the high school class rank percentile OR the G.P.A. percentile, whichever is higher, to the national percentile on the ACT or SAT college entrance exam. Weighted G.P.A.'s are used in calculating the combined ability score when available.
